Who We Are
Our Purpose
Since 1967, the Boxborough Minutemen have worked to:
The Boxborough District Minutemen trace their lineage and spirit back to the original patriots of 1775, men and women who stood shoulder-to-shoulder in pursuit of liberty and justice. Today, we keep that proud tradition alive, not just as a ceremonial unit, but as a vital part of our local community. Our Company honors the legacy of the past while contributing meaningfully to the present, ensuring that the values of civic responsibility, historical awareness, and neighborly cooperation continue to thrive.
❋ Preserve LegacyPreserve and celebrate the legacy of the original Minutemen, whose courage and determination shaped the nation’s earliest history.
❋ Promote HistoryInspire interest in America’s colonial era and the Revolutionary War, especially among our youth, by sharing stories, reenacting events, and sustaining traditions that bring history vividly to life.
❋ Community ServiceEncourage good citizenship and community involvement through philanthropic deeds, community service projects, and educational programs.
❋ Local PrideFoster a strong sense of local identity and pride by participating in civic gatherings, ceremonies, and cultural celebrations.
Together, we create opportunities for neighbors to engage with their town’s past, embrace their role in the present, and contribute to a vibrant future.
What We Do
As a member of the Boxborough Minutemen, you can:
Build community spirit: Join us in organizing social and fundraising events, such as the annual Fifer’s Day Festival, which supports community service activities and local causes.
Serve the public good: From Adopt-A-Highway initiatives to supporting educational grants and scholarships, your involvement helps strengthen the bonds of our community.
Look the part: Don our distinctive colonial-era uniforms and accoutrements, and help breathe life into history at parades, commemorations, and public ceremonies.
Bring history to life: March in reenactments of the legendary April 19, 1775 journey to Concord in the Battle at North Bridge and help others envision the courage and resolve of the Minutemen who came before us.
Have fun and make friends: Meet a diverse group of neighbors and fellow history enthusiasts. Enjoy gatherings throughout the year—both structured Company meetings and informal social outings that connect like-minded individuals who share a love of heritage, service, and camaraderie.
